About
Edna McKelvey
(she/her)
Edna is an executive coach, accredited supervisor of other coaches, groups and clinicians, and a team/group facilitator. She brings to her work over 30 years international corporate experience in management, sales, marketing and consulting, working for multinationals in Australia, UK and North America.
Edna spent most of her corporate career working in the IT sector, spending time with Wang Computer, Attache Software and Microsoft. At Wang Australia she led the creation of their software industry marketing division, working with stakeholders to provide total solutions to key industry sectors. She moved to the US with Attache to implement a Canadian alliance with IBM through its national distributor and dealer network, and to set up their new Canadian subsidiary before returning to Australia. With Microsoft Australia she was responsible for initiating innovative new sales and licensing models and managing large national accounts. The business development work she did with tertiary education provider TAFE led to TAFE becoming one of Microsoft’s largest global key accounts. With Microsoft UK Edna was responsible for marketing and sales into the education sector, leading her team through the development of new marketing and licensing programs to address the emerging market of families and students across Europe.
For the last 15 years Edna has been based in Australia, working broadly in the field of behavioural change. This has included establishing a psychotherapy practice as well as being an executive coach and facilitator. Through her work as a psychotherapist she became proficient in running groups and working with family systems, thereby acquiring a systemic approach that now informs her work with corporates. She chose ultimately to close her therapy practice and now focuses solely on her coaching work, facilitating individuals, teams and whole organizations to become more effective.
She provides supervision to other executive coaches individually and in groups, and facilitates the learning of group process and dynamics at the Jansen Newman Institute (JNI). She has a proven track record in helping individuals and groups become more capable and effective through becoming more self aware and skilled in relating with one another, and gain broader understanding of group dynamics and the impact of systemic influences in their performance.
