Helen Williams

Prior to establishing her career as an executive coach, team coach and facilitator, Helen had 25 years senior management experience within multi-national matrix-based organisations and high-risk operational environments. Helen worked in locations including the USA, NZ, Australia and the UK. Her roles included heading up a global operation, two start-up operations, selling a going concern, and leading teams accountable for the delivery of strategy, finance, marketing, public relations, sales, IT, and call centre operations. She also set up and headed a successful sales, PR and marketing organisation.

In 2001 after setting up her own business and completing a Masters in Coaching Psychology & Strategic HRM, Helen began a career coaching high potential leaders at all levels across an extensive range of industry sectors. Those sectors include finance, banking, retail, pharmaceutical, construction, education, media, telco, manufacturing and state and federal government departments. She has also worked with owners and entrepreneurs of SMEs.

She draws on her business experience and professional training to understand the wide range of issues faced by senior leaders in today’s challenging environments and enjoys working with businesses to shape the leadership culture and enable transformational change to occur.

Helen’s experience includes coaching groups, teams and individuals to bring about enhanced personal and organisational performance resulting in improved financial outcomes for the business. Throughout Helen’s career, building high performing teams and lifting team performance has been a strength and today she enjoys partnering with clients to help improve and harness the collective capability of teams and individuals in their organisations to work at their optimum.

A number of different models inform Helen’s work especially around team and group dynamics. It includes Structural Dynamics, a dialogic process to support high performance, self-awareness frameworks to provide a mirror for leaders to understand the impact of their behaviours and mindsets and systems thinking to connect a team’s work to their organisation’s and environmental factors.

Helen’s personal style is warm, authentic, honest, and practical. She provides a safe environment where clients can explore the complexity and ambiguity of work and work/life balance. Helen has a keen interest in health and fitness. In her spare time she can often be found enjoying a round of golf, cycling, swimming, travelling, and practising Bikram yoga. She also enjoys mentoring young up and coming leaders.

Qualifications

Helen has a Marketing Diploma from the Australian Institute of Management (AIM), a Masters in Coaching Psychology & Human Resources Management from the University of Sydney and is a Graduate (Fellow) of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
